Ingredients

  • 1 6 oz. package of lime flavored Jello
  • 1 c. Gold Tequila
  • 1/4 c. Triple Sec
  • 1 juice of a whole lime
  • 2 c. boiling water
  • 3/4 c. cold water

Fake Blood

  • 3 tbsp. corn syrup
  • 1/2 tbsp. chocolate syrup
  • 3-4 drops red food coloring

Toppings

  • 3 tbsp. coarse ground sugar
  • 2-3 drops red food coloring
  • gummy or sour worms
  • lime wedges
  • candy eyes

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Jello shots by mixing 2 c. of boiling water into the Jello mix.  Stir until dissolved.

  2. Add 3/4 c. of cold water; stir.  Refrigerate for around 15 minutes until Jello mixture has slightly cooled.

  3. Add the tequila, triple sec, and lime juice into the Jello mixture; stir until combined.

  4. Pour the Jello mixture into plastic shot glasses.  Mini muffin pans work great for holding the shot glasses.

  5. Refrigerate until firm for 30-60 minutes.  Add the topping right before serving.

  6. Prepare the fake blood; stir together the corn syrup, chocolate syrup and 3-4 drops of red food coloring in a small bowl.

  7. In a small bowl mix the coarse ground sugar and 2-3 drops of red food coloring.  Lightly stir until the sugar is evenly red in color.

  8. Run a small lime wedge over the rims of each shot glass and dip/turn unto a small plate with the red sugar until lightly coated.

  9. Top the shot with a candy eye and gummy worm.  Lightly drizzle the fake blood over the tops and side of the shot glass.  Serve immediately.
