Jamaican Rum Punch

This Jamaican Rum Punch is the perfect party drink that gets prepared in a pitcher and poured over ice.  It is super refreshing with orange juice, pineapple juice, lime juice and cherry grenadine.  Garnish it with a slice of fresh lime or pineapple for a tropical feel.  

This was my drink of choice while vacationing in Jamaica and I love their dark, Appleton Rum.You really don’t even need to wait until you are entertaining to mix a batch of this up.  Just half the recipe or stick it in a pitcher and then the fridge for later. 

My husband and I are celebrating our wedding anniversary this weekend, so this gave us the perfect excuse to dink a couple of glasses before our much needed dinner out.  It also did wonders for my mood after dealing with 2 sick and fussy kids.  I’m starting to feel sick myself, and was told by a Jamaican that medicine is a waste of time…just drink rum!  What great advice, along with knocking on your pillow for the hour you want to wake up in the morning and turning it.  No need to worry about oversleeping from too much Rum Punch…pure genius!

Rum Punch

A Jamaican Rum Punch with pineapple, orange and lime juices and a splash of Cherry Grenadine served over ice.

Servings: 4

Ingredients

• 2 C. Pineapple Juice
• 2 C. Orange Juice
• 1/4 C. Lime Juice
• 3 Tbsp. Cherry Grenadine
• 1 C. Dark Rum I used Appleton Estate Reserve Blend from Jamaica

Instructions

1. Add all ingredients to a pitcher and lightly stir to blend.
2. Serve in a cocktail glass over ice.
3. Garnish with a fresh pineapple or lime slice.
4. Note, you may add an additional shot to the top of your punch glass for the preferred Jamaican presentation.
