A Moscato Dole Whip will be your new favorite boozy dessert this summer. Vanilla ice cream gets blended with frozen pineapples, pineapple juice, lime juice and your favorite, Moscato wine. Leave out the wine and add extra pineapple juice for the kids to enjoy.
If you can’t go to Disney, bring it to you with these whipped delights. We started planning a trip last year for October and I’m thinking it won’t be happening now. I’ll have to settle for kiddie pools and adult treats like these throughout the summer.
A Painkiller Cocktail or Jamaican Rum Punch are also, part of my much anticipated backyard retreat. Maybe, one of the coyotes hanging out in my neighborhood can even stop by for a snack.
I started experimenting with this cocktail last summer with coconut milk instead of ice cream and the result was a bit of an icy mess. I quickly found that using vanilla ice cream gives you a much creamier treat that is worth the extra calories.
Adding extra Moscato makes it a more of a drinkable delight if you want to kick it into high gear. The sweetness of the wine brilliantly complements this fruity treat.
Shake things up by adding in your favorite frozen fruits such as strawberries or raspberries. My favorite fruity combination is half pineapples and half strawberries.
Just ensure that the fruit is frozen if you want the texture to be thick enough to eat with a spoon. Blend it up and spoon it into a dessert dish or pipe it with a plastic baggie for a more extravagant presentation.
Don’t forget to check your piping bag or baggie for sneaky holes. I ended up with ice cream sprayed across my floor with my first attempt.
