A bucket of Whiskey Sour Slushes is perfect for serving at your next BBQ or party. Its a simple mixture of orange and lemon concentrate, brewed tea, sugar, and whiskey that gets tossed into the freezer overnight. These were a huge hit at my house for Father’s Day…the bucket was gone in minutes!
I’m not exaggerating when I say the bucket was gone in minutes! I literally had to hide one in the refrigerator for safe-keeping. I was seriously, worried that they were all going to be gone before my Dad even arrived. That will teach him to be on time…LOL! I won’t finger point as to who drank most of the bucket, but I will say that you would think it was another Mother’s Day celebration! There were initial mentions of disappointment that my Pineapple Orange Creamsicle Mimosas weren’t available.
“Oh, these are reaaaally good”
“Its not my fault, someone keeps stealing my drink every time I get up.”
“Let me just have one more, there’s plenty here.”
The takeaway from this, DOUBLE the batch and hide the other bucket for yourself! These will really quench your thirst on a hot summer day, but beware of the sneaky effects of sweet cocktails with plenty of whiskey. This drink is perfect for even the non-whiskey drinker. The sweetness of the lemon and orange concentrate practically cancels out any hint of an aftertaste. However, the leveling effects of the brewed tea and minimal amount of added sugar make this recipe pure Whiskey Sour perfection!

Only 3 ingredients for this festively green Shamrock Midori Melon Martini that is perfect for St. Patrick’s Day! The sweetness of Midori liqueur with vodka and a splash or orange juice makes this cocktail so smooth and delicious. Garnish it with green melon and a rim with green sugar to ensure complete green saturation that would make any leprechaun jealous!
We are at the precipice of another glorious St. Patrick’s Day holiday celebration and I couldn’t be more excited to have an excuse to drink some green cocktails. It just so happens that one of my other favorite martinis is also green, the Apple Martini. I also experimented with a cucumber lime mojito recipe yesterday. Talk about refreshing! My love of green cocktails can only be explained by my estimated 5% Irish heritage…LOL. I think we are going to be doing a green drink double header this weekend folks!
WARNING…don’t look directly into the kiwi eyes in this picture! They can be very enticing and cause you to drink too many green cocktails and think leprechauns are out to get you! This picture just cracks me up! I only punished around 5 kiwis trying to carve a shamrock. This is no easy task my friends. To top off my frustrations, I had my sliding glass door open while taking pictures and my reflector board fell over and broke my kiwi shamrock numerous times. That’s what I get for trying to take multitasking to a new level. Hope you have a great holiday and play hooky from work to enjoy some green cocktails this week!
